La question sous-jacente à celle-ci déchire les trippes des membres de RésoVélo depuis sa création : à quoi ça sert RésoVélo ? Les structures habituelle de réunions ne permettent pas aux idées de circuler librement comme le fait la pause café. C’est dans cette optique que le “forum ouvert” permet aux leaders naturels de s’exprimer efficacement en petits groupes sur des sujets complexes et de rapporter leurs découvertes au groupe.

  Slowly there are more and more cyclists on the roads. Slowly there are more and more organic farms in Quebec. The decline of cheap oil coincides, fortunately, with a rising environmental consciousness. Bike2Farm strives to show participants the distance between local organic farms and the city. Travelling by bicycle is a perspective that allows us to appreciate the meaning of distance and understand what it takes to leave the city on self-powered machines and enter the surrounding farmlands. Bike2Farm's participants learn how farms function, as they work for the farmers and acquire an understanding of the complex web of food and its consumption in the city. We will discuss ways to deepen the connection between the bike world and the farming world.

  L’an dernier la Table ronde animée par Daniel Grenon demandait aux participants “comment mettre sur pied un atelier de vélo communautaire”. Le succès de cette table ronde nous incite à ajouter ½ heure à celle de cette année co-animée par Daniel Grenon et Ed Hudson.  La question soulevée lors de la table ronde portera davantage sur les motivations qui ont menées à la création des différents ateliers communautaires. Bien entendue, c’est l’atelier à ne pas manquer pour ceux qui désirent démarrer leur propres initiatives de réparation de vélos.

  Sequel to last year's forum "How to Run a Community Bicycle Workshop" facilitated by Daniel Grenon. Last's forum was so successful that this year we've added an extra half hour and another facilitator. Discussion topics include: recruiting volunteers, managing used bicycles and parts, and how to find a space for a shop. For those wishing to start a new workshop, this forum is not to be missed.

  Bike Sauce is an all-volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to promoting cycling in the East end of Toronto and everywhere.  We accomplish our mission by using three approaches:
   
  1) Providing an atmosphere in which everyone feels welcome, from die-hard cyclists to people who are just intrigued by the thought of cycling.
  2) Actively promoting cycling advocacy, and by providing a meeting space for groups interested in cycling issues.
  3) Providing a Do-It-Yourself repair facility, supported a full complement of tools, and help from our volunteer mechanics.  This is operated on a Pay-What-You-Can donation basis, open to the general public.
